Program Outcomes

Department of Civil Engineering Program Outcomes:

1. Adequate knowledge in mathematics, natural sciences, and specific subjects related to civil engineering discipline; ability to use theoretical and applied knowledge in complex engineering problems.

2. Ability to design experiments, conduct experiments, collect data, analyze results, and interpret findings in field, office, and laboratory environments for the investigation of complex civil engineering problems or discipline-specific research topics.

3. Ability to design and construct a complex system, process, device, or product under realistic constraints and conditions to meet specific requirements; application of modern design methods for this purpose.

4. Effective teamwork skills within disciplinary and multidisciplinary teams, ability to act within team harmony, leadership, management, and coordination skills; individual work skills.

5. Ability to identify, define, formulate, and solve complex civil engineering problems; selection and application of appropriate analysis and modeling methods for this purpose.

6. Compliance with ethical principles in engineering practices, professional and ethical responsibility awareness.

7. Ability to communicate effectively in Turkish, both orally and in writing; proficiency in at least one foreign language; effective report writing and understanding written reports, ability to prepare design and production reports, deliver effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

8. Knowledge about the universal and societal dimensions of civil engineering practices on health, environment, and safety, and the problems reflected in the engineering field of the era; awareness of the legal consequences of engineering solutions.
